EPCM – Relocation of Substation D Loads

Porto, Portugal

Project Description

As a result of the dismantling of the Porto Refinery, including the Utilities Unit, the old power distribution system was modified.

Galp decided to use the existing A’/Y substation, built in 2010, to distribute electricity to the Logistics Park substations that will remain in operation, creating a new underground infrastructure, clearly identified and outside the dismantling area.

A new 400kVA emergency diesel generator was installed to power the LV (3F+N) emergency network for the PLM substations.

It was also necessary to relocate the loads to be maintained from substation D to the existing substation M, whose switchboards were replaced by existing ones.
