EFGL

Gulf of Lion, France

Project Description

Located within the Gulf of Lion marine nature park, the EFGL project is a joint venture between Ocean Winds (80%) and Banque des Territoires (CDC Investment Works) (20%).
This project is the ‘twin project’ of WindFloat Atlantic with three 10MW turbines on Principle Power’s WindFloat® floats. With several key innovations planned for demonstration in the EFGL project, and thanks to an incremental risk reduction process, the EFGL project will enable this technology to reach its 3rd generation before being implemented on a mass scale.

In addition, the project is located in a specific Mediterranean climate, one of the windiest areas in France, with an average wind speed close to 10 m/s, as well as a demanding level of turbulence intensity.
